Genoveva Vargas-Solar

Genoveva Vargas-Solar is a principal scientist at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and part of the Database group at LIRIS. With a diverse background in Computing Science and Compared Literature, she holds degrees from University Joseph Fourier, University Stendhal, and Universidad de las Américas. An active feminist, Genoveva has certifications in Human Trafficking and Southern feminism from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She is deeply involved in promoting gender equity and inclusion in her field, serving on the gender equity commission at LIRIS and representing EDBT in the D&I database interconference group. Genoveva co-organizes events focusing on data science for equality, inclusion, and well-being, and is a member of the A+I Alliance on feminism in AI and the digital decolonization group Tierra Común.
