Genoveva Vargas-Solar is a Senior Researcher (HDR) at the CNRS, affiliated with LIRIS in Lyon. She formerly served as Deputy Director of LAFMIA at CINVESTAV (2008–2020) and is a full member of the Mexican Academy of Computer Science. She advocates for decolonial approaches to data governance, AI, and large-scale execution platforms. Her interdisciplinary background (Latin American literature and systems engineering, then comparative literature and computer science for her master’s and PhD) informs the projects she coordinates between Europe and Latin America with both public and private partners. She leads the inter-conference DEI initiative within the database community and sits on the steering committees of SIGMOD, EDBT, ADBIS, BDA, and AMW. As a member of Tierra Común and contributor to the feminist network A+I, her current research focuses on women’s participation in data science and AI (North/South) and on the equitable, responsible allocation of compute resources in decentralized data centers.

Chirine GHEDIRA GUEGAN, IAE, University Jean Moulin Lyon 3, LIRIS

Chirine GHEDIRA GUEGAN is a Full Professor of Computer Science at iaelyon school of Management at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University (UJML3). She focused her work on the large-scale integration of heterogeneous data sources in different settings with an attention on servitisation on sources, data privacy and security. Her recent didactic and research activities cover the digital strategy, smart services for emergent diseases’ detection, data lakes and integration of structured and unstructured data in health decision process. She is member of the board of directors and responsible of the Research development at iaelyon, and is the co-head of the Service Oriented Computing research team of LIRIS laboratory.
