{"id":607,"date":"2025-12-07T17:38:46","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T17:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vargas-solar.com\/data-centric-smart-everything\/?page_id=607"},"modified":"2025-12-07T17:40:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T17:40:08","slug":"final-infographic-project-summary-insights","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/vargas-solar.com\/data-centric-smart-everything\/final-infographic-project-summary-insights\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Infographic \u2013 Project Summary &amp; Insights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the end of the three challenges, students are asked to produce a <em>single-page<br>infographic<\/em> (digital poster ) that summarises the overall project.<br><br>The infographic should be understandable to a non-technical audience (e.g. city<br>officials or citizens) while still being grounded in the analyses performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.1 Required Content of the Infographic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Title and short context: a concise title and 2\u20133 sentences explaining the smart-city energy &amp; fairness scenario.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data sources: mention the smart-meter energy dataset (OPSD) and the socio-economic fairness dataset (Adult), and briefly describe their roles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pipeline overview: a simple visual flow or diagram showing the three main phases:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8211; Challenge 1: energy data cleaning, daily aggregation, and outlier detection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; Challenge 2: fairness evaluation and fair sampling using AIF360 and SQL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; Challenge 3: regression modelling and fairness of prediction errors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Key quantitative results:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8211; Example outlier pattern from Challenge 1 (e.g. unusually high consumption days).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; At least one fairness metric from Challenge 2 (e.g. statistical parity difference or disparate impact before\/after Reweighing or SQL sampling).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; At least one modelling metric from Challenge 3 (e.g. RMSE and R\u00b2 for both models).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fairness-of-errors summary: a simple table or graphic comparing group-wise MAE across building_type and\/or location, and (optionally) the fairness gap\/ratio for each model.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Main insights and recommendations:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3\u20135 bullet points interpreting what the city should learn from the analysis (e.g. which buildings are most demanding, where errors are larger, how fairness issues might appear).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least one suggestion for improving data collection, modelling, or policy design to support more equitable and efficient energy management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Infographic Deliverable<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students may use any tool (PowerPoint, Keynote, Canva, Figma, etc.) to create the infographic, but it should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fit on a single page or slide (A0 or similar).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be visually clear and readable when printed or projected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include legends and units for all plots or numbers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explicitly connect energy analytics and fairness considerations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of the three challenges, students are asked to produce a single-pageinfographic (digital poster ) that summarises the overall project.
