Barbara Catania, University of Genova (she/her) 

Barbara Catania is a Professor at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics, and System Engineering of the University of Genova, Italy, where she co-heads the Database and Information System Group. She is the head of the Master of Science and the Bachelor degrees in Computer Science at the University of Genova. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Milan, Italy. She graduated from the University of Genova with a degree in Information Sciences. 
Her main research interests concern advanced data management and analysis, explicitly referring to models, languages, centralised and large-scale architectures, data integration, query optimisation, stored and streaming data, geo-referenced data, semantic data, and ethical data management and analysis aspects. She has participated in numerous scientific and industrial research projects on these topics. 
She is a National Inter-university Consortium for Informatics (CINI) Big Data Research Lab member. She promotes gender equality, diversity, and inclusion (DEI) in education and research. She is an ADBIS DEI officer representing the ADBIS endowment in the inter-conference initiative DEI databases.

Genoveva Vargas-Solar (she/her)Genoveva Vargas-Solar (http://www.vargas-solar.com) is a principal scientist of the French Council of Scientific Research (CNRS) and a member of the DataBase group of Laboratory on Informatics on Image and Information Systems (LIRIS). She is a regular member of the Mexican Academia of Computing. She obtained her Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from the University of Grenoble. She received her first PhD degree in Computer Science at the University Joseph Fourier and her second PhD degree in Literature at the University Stendhal. She obtained her first master’s degree in computer science at the University Joseph Fourier and her second master’s degree in Comparative Literature at University Stendhal. She did her undergraduate studies in Computer Systems Engineering at Universidad de las Américas in Puebla. She contributes to the construction of service-based database/data science management systems. She is a member of the EDBT Endowment, the BDA steering committee, the ADBIS steering committee and the SIGMOD executive committee. She promotes gender equality and diversity and inclusion (DEI) actions. She is an officer of the gender equality committee at LIRIS. She represents her lab at the Commission of Equity and Diversity of the U. of Lyon and the Federation of Informatics of Lyon. She coordinates the inter-conference initiative DEI databases. She is a member of the Feminist A+I Alliance and the activist group Tierra Común. She actively promotes scientific cooperation in Computer Science between Latin America and Europe, particularly France and Mexico.
